The book ''History of Armenia'' was written by the Mechitarist priest Jacques Issaverdens (sometimes spelled Issaverdenz) and published in 1887-1888 at the Saint Lazarus printing house in Venice. It covers the history of Armenia from its legendary and ancient origins to the modern era. It is marked by the perspective of the Mechitarist monks, guardians of Armenian culture, language, and history.
